The 'Our Pacific' theme for Term 3 2010 was capped off with a school disco in September, featuring
a parade of masks in the design of various islands, a demonstration of traditional dance,
songs and a sasa by the children,
a shared meal, and some serious dancing fun!
Noticeboard
- Important news about our future! Please see Merger with Miramar South School.
- Term 2 swim lessons are taking place on Fridays, leaving school at 11.30am and returning at 1.15pm. Please remember togs, towel, and goggles. Cost $25 for the term – please pay at the office.
- In May, our years 4, 5 and 6 students gratefully accepted a personal copy each of the Usborne Illustrated Dictionary. Thank you to our local Rotary Club for this donation!
- In term 1, we worked with Wellington City Council to collect information about how our students travel to and from school, and to develop a plan for how to encourage more students to travel in more active ways, e.g. walking, cycling, scooting. We were delighted to discover that 60% of our students already travel to school actively.

Our school in the news
- Our school garden featured in the Cook Strait News on 24 August 2011.
- We were showcased on the front page of the Dominion Post on 30 May 2011, discussing a merger with Miramar South School, proposed by the Ministry of Education.
- When Wellington City Council introduced its new recycling approach in May 2011, our school successfully arranged to be one of the 15 schools and early childhood centres that are part of the Council's trial for extending their recycling collections to schools. - In September 2010, we enjoyed a netball tournament with Seatoun school. City Life featured a short article celebrating the day.
- Our Room 1 students were featured in late 2009 on the World Wildlife Fund web site, after making paper lanterns as part of a project about on climate change. See:
