For upwards of a decade, there has been informal discussion about a possible merger of the two schools, as neither currently has a full roll. In short, the two schools will merge and operate as a Year 1 to 8 school on the Strathmore site, from the beginning of the 2013 school year. History of the decisionPublic consultation with the schools' communities took place in June and July 2011, led by an external facilitator. Feedback received from surveys and consultation meetings was compiled as a report to the Ministry of Educationand submitted to the Ministry of Education in August.
